Christmas!

 

Yes, it’s here again. I can’t believe that one year has just whizzed by. This year will be my first year celebrating Xmas away from home. On one hand, it feels a little strange, but on the other hand, I have someone special who knows what I’m feeling, and has gone all out to make me feel better about it

 

Yesterday, we went for a spot of shopping, and wheeee! We bought our first Xmas tree, and some Xmas deco to go with it. Our apartment is a teeny one, so we bought a teeny little tree to you know, match the theme

 

I kinda forgot that I am in Italy, and when I got to the mall, it was fulll of Xmas deco and people buying stuff like there’s no tomorrow! Trolleys were packed to the brim with Xmas trees, baubles, gifts. I see parents carting toy boxes, Nintendo Wiis, PlayStations, dollhouses, you name it! They have rows and rows of children’s toys, and those aisles were really packed. Kids in this country sure are lucky!

 

And then there’s the electronics department. I have no idea why, but that department was packed too! Perhaps its the women getting techy gifts for their other halves.

 

And they have special counters for the meats and rich foods, ham and what not. And oh, joy! They finally had lamb! I’ve been here close to 4 months, and this is the first time I’ve came across lamb at the supermarket. Of course I hoarded Got me a leg of lamb and some meaty parts too. Since its so precious, I gotta think what I want to whip up real carefully.

 

I guess going to the mall made me feel all Christmassy. So I decided to change my blog theme to a Christmassy one to reflect the season.

 

And oh, its 2 degrees outside. HB said there was ice on his car, and it’s raining outside. I put my hand out, and its actually ice particles, not quite snow, not quite rain. I’m guessing it’s gonna be snowing real hard pretty soon. I don’t know whether to be apprehensive about the cold or to be real excited about my first snow experience ever!
